What is a lactation consultant?

Lactation consultants are professional breastfeeding specialists trained to help mothers with a variety of issues. Typically, they help mothers who experience painful nursing, low milk production, or babies who have difficulty latching on or not gaining weight.

They are a teachers as well as counsellors and help mothers understand the fundamentals of lactation as well as supporting their efforts to learn how to feed their babies. A lactation consultant may help women meet their breastfeeding goals in light of special circumstances such as returning to work or school. She's familiar with breastfeeding equipment such as breast pumps and other supplies that are helpful to breastfeeding mothers and infants.

What is homeopathy?
